The Airmen, who ground out a scratchy 1-0 win over unfancied CIL in their opening fixture, were found wanting early on again by the energetic Railmen, but eventually put their experience to good use for their second straight victory at the Bangalore Football stadium.
The Railmen got off to an electrifying start when striker Regin powered home in the sixth minute.

With HASC pushing hard for the equaliser, the Railmen banked on counter-attacks in search of an elusive second goal.

The desperate Airmen finally equalised four minutes from the interval, thanks to a Sugander own goal. Rejuvenated after the break, HASC rotated play much better and went ahead when Bimal Milza’s shot from the right beat RWF goalkeeper Edwin in the 52nd minute.
In the day’s other match, Madras Engineering Group routed first-timers Dharmaraja Union 5-0.

Amar’s third-minute penalty conversion and Ramu’s 45th-minute gave MEG a 2-0 lead at half time before Tappa (50th), Gabriel (69th) and Girish (72nd) wrapped up another commanding show from the Sappers.
