Governor Hans Raj Bhardwaj inaugurated “Darwin Now,” an exhibition to mark the 200th birth anniversary  Darwin and 150th anniversary of the publication of his book, here on Tuesday. Organised by British Council along with Bangalore Association for Science Education (BASE), the exhibition aimed at creating awareness on Darwin's Theory of Evolution and how varied fields like geology and economics are influenced by it.

After a trial run at The Forum Mall from October 19 to 25, Prof U R Rao, Chairman, BASE and chairman PRL Council, said that the exhibition would be of great benefit to students. Darwin, he said, was one of the greatest scientists of 19th century.

Rao revealed that Darwin, who was born in UK, shared his birth date and year - February 12 - with Abraham Lincoln, the 16th president of USA.
