Ailing man commits suicide

 A 30-year-old man suffering from jaundice allegedly committed suicide on Tuesday unable to bear the pain.

The victim, Udaychandra, a native of Kolar, was an employee of Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL). He was married for ten years and was living with his wife Viji and one-year-old son at Kacharakanahalli in Hennur.

Udaychandra was diagnosed with jaundice three months ago and was being treated at HAL Hospital. However, the victim became severely depressed in the course of the treatment. Udaychandra was found hanging when the family members woke up on Wednesday morning.

Housewife ends life

In another incident, a 29-year-old housewife allegedly committed suicide on Tuesday. The victim, Trupti Darekar, was married to Prashanth Prakash Darekar, 35, a craftsman with the Electrical Mechanical Engineering Corps (EME) of the Indian Army.

The couple hailed from Maharashtra. Residents of Muneshwara Layout in Chikkabanaswadi, they were married for four years and had a two-year-old son Ishantha Prashanth.

According to the police, Prashanth was about to leave for work at around 9.45 am, when he heard a cry for help from his wife. He rushed to the bedroom, but found the door locked from inside. 

He broke open the door and tried to rescue Trupti who was found hanging from the ceiling with a nylon rope. He rushed her to a nearby hospital at Kammanahalli with his neighbours’ help, where she was declared brought dead.
