<p>The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) declared on Tuesday the results of Joint Entrance Examination (JEE)-Main, conducted for admissions to National Institutes of Technology (NITs), Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs) and a range of other engineering colleges in the country.<br /><br />The all-India merit list for admissions to these technical institutes has been prepared by giving 40 percentage weightage to class XII marks, normalised under a percentile formula, and 60 per cent to the performance in the JEE-Main examination.<br /><br />The board has not given any ranking to the candidates who took the test, conducted in pen and paper mode on April 7 and online from April 8 to 15.</p>.<p>A candidate can get his or her scores from the Board’s website, http://cbseresults. nic.in/, by entering roll number and date of birth.</p>.<p>The scores obtained by the candidates in JEE-Main will also determine their candidature for JEE-Advance, meant for admissions to 15 Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs). <br /><br />Those who appeared in JEE-Main can visit the Board’s website to know if they qualified for the JEE-Advance or not.<br /><br />As per a decision by the IIT council, about 1.5 lakh candidates from all categories, including Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes, have been screened for the JEE-Advanced, to be conducted on June 6, based on their performance in JEE-Main.<br /></p>
