Bypoll is slated in the Ferozabad Lok Sabha constituency on November 7. The Congress has fielded film actor Raj Babbar from the seat.

Addressing an election meeting at Ferozabad, Rahul said  the Congress would emerge as the party of the youth and would change the face of Uttar Pradesh. The young Congress leader listed the achievements of the UPA government and referred to the social security schemes, NREGS and others to buttress his contention.

He justified his frequent visits to the homes of dalits and poor saying that they represented the “real India.”

“There are two faces of Hindustan...one is that of the big people...the other is of the poor and backward,” he said.

“When I have food with the dalits and poor, I mingle with them and get a feeling of their problems and difficulties,” Rahul said. He lashed out at the opposition parties and said that successive non-Congress regimes in UP did nothing to alleviate the sufferings of the common man.
