It isn’t unusual to hear of an actor crooning for a film. Many popular stars, film-makers and even music composers have tried their hand at singing, since they feel it adds some extra value to a project. However, when a popular face gets behind the microphone to croon, it still makes news. This time round, actor-director Prem has hit headlines by stepping into the recording studio of ‘Half Mental’ to sing a special song for the movie.

While Prem has sung songs for all the movies that he has directed, this is the first time he is doing so for another movie. “It was a very interesting song and the tune was catchy. When the makers of the movie approached me to sing, I thought it would be nice to give it a shot. So far, I have sung songs for my own movies but this time, it will be for another banner. The experience was the same; the music director B J Bharat guided me well,” says Prem.

The actor-director recently recorded the song, called Alemariyagi Aleyo Tiruka at Renu Studio in Nandini Layout. The composer was very happy with the output. “The song required a rustic touch, which Prem’s voice suited very well. The result has exceeded our expectations. Now, we can’t wait for the fans to listen it,” adds the composer.

The movie stars Sandeep and Sonu Gowda in the lead and is directed by Lakshmi Dinesh, who has also written the story and penned the dialogues. The star cast includes Mico Nagaraj, Tabala Nani and Srinivas Gowda.

The shooting has almost been completed.
