From Hawaiian to European and Afghani, the City is brimming over with concept- based restaurants. Count among them The Biker’s Cafe situated in Vasant Kunj.

Though the name suggests that the café would be restricted to biking enthusiasts, this isn’t the case. Obviously. But the question is, what can be that special food for bikers that the restaurant is serving? The answer is a ‘heavy breakfast’. Bikers come to this place before starting their road journeys and sometimes after they are done with their morning rides and are served a variety of omelettes, sandwiches and salads.

The entire restaurant is decorated with motorcycle memorabilia and sports everything, from lights to furniture, in the same theme. The restaurant even has wall clocks and souvenirs designed from original bike parts like the wheel chain, a wheel rim, and a bike handlebar with a headlight, creating a different look altogether. What really takes you to a bygone era are the hand-painted retrobike frames.

Starting at 7am, the café serves the best selection of sandwiches, with seasonal and fresh ingredients. Some interesting sandwiches which will make you salivate include Amchi Mumbai Sandwich – a typical Mumbai style sandwich layered with potatoes sev and mint chutney, and Punjabi Chicken Sandwich – a chicken tikka tossed with mint chutney and red onions. There is a variety in burgers also with tikkis made of chicken, mutton or fish.

For starters one can also try the vegetable salt and pepper dish. Assorted vegetables cooked in red sauce, garnished with lemon and coriander is the ultimate treat, if you love spicy food.

A variety of vegetarian and non-vegetarian salads are also served here which are placed under ‘High on Mileage’ section in menu. The salad bar has tossed and prepared salads like the Roadies (having tomato, cucumber), eggs and tuna salad and the Hawaiian Salad. Salads here, come within an economical range of Rs 90-140.
Pizzas are served with a slightly different touch. They are square-shaped, thin and crunchy and the dough is stuffed, making it a healthy choice. The pizza is a must try at the Biker’s Café.

If you are going in for the main course,  there are options like chicken and fish steaks and lamb-chops. Be extra-cautious while ordering chicken steak because it can turn out to be bland. One can go in for fish steak as it has a tangy taste, is served with mashed potatoes giving a totally amazing flavour. Also try bruschetta topped with mushroom and exotic herbs.

For the desserts don’t miss out on the Brownie or the Strawberry Waffle Sundae and Creamed Sandwich, Chocolate Sauce on Crispy Waffle served with a scoop of ice cream. A meal for two would easily cost a very reasonable Rs 500.
