JOIN USThe ministry of personnel, public grievances and pensions, and the department of personnel and training are seeking applications to fill the posts of information commissioner.
“The government of India has constituted a body under the Right to Information Act, 2005 known as the Central Information Commission to exercise the powers conferred on and to perform the functions assigned to it under the Act. It is located in New Delhi. The commission shall have the CIC and up to 10 ICs,” stated the notification. The Act provides that ICs will be persons of eminence in public life with wide knowledge and experience in law, science and technology, social service, mass media, administration and governance.
“The IC shall not be a MP, Member of the Legislature of any state or Union Territory, as the case may be, hold any other office of profit, connected with any political party or carrying on business and pursuing any profession,” it said.
