CET: Document verification begins

Document verification of candidates who cleared Common Entrance Test and secured ranks began in Vidyavardhaka College of Engineering, here on Wednesday.

The document verification process will be held at the nodal centre till June 23.

On the first day of document verification, as many as 307 students from Mysore, Mandya, Kodagu and Chamarajanagar, who have secured ranks from 1 to 2,000, attended the document verification process at the Centre.

Vivek D Maleyur, who had secured third rank in Engineering stream in the State had his documents verified first, following which he was provided with an ID and keyword, making him eligible to opt for a seat online.

The document verification process was held in four sessions; 9 to 11 am, 11.15 am - 1.15 pm, 2 - 4 pm and 4.15 to 6.15 pm.

The nodal centre suffered a slight delay in initiating the document verification process, owing to problems faced by the center to connect with the main server in Bangalore. However, the issue was rectified soon.

Document verification of students who have secured ranks between 2,000 to 5,000 will be held on June 6.
