JOIN USA 30-year-old man has been arrested for raping his 70-year-old mother in an inebriated condition at their house in east Delhi’s Madhu Vihar, police said on Friday. In a separate incident, a 52-year-old man was held for trying to rape a woman in east Delhi’s Pandav Nagar.
The first incident took place on Wednesday when Pawan, a drug addict, barged into his mother’s room and locked the door. “He then sexually assaulted his mother. The incident was reported to us when she came outside after sometime and informed her neighbour,” a police officer said.
After receiving the information, a police team arrested Pawan at the house.
“The victim was also thrashed by the accused son when she tried to resist his attempt,” the officer added. A case was has been registered against the 30-year-old with Madhu Vihar police station. Pawan faces charge under section 376 (rape) of the Indian Penal Code.
In the second incident, a man allegedly tried to rape a 25-year-old woman on the pretext of providing her a job in Pandav Nagar.
Vijay, 52, was arrested after a complaint was made by the victim. She told police that she came in contact with the accused recently.
“She was unemployed, and the accused promised to help her in getting a job. Vijay also called the victim to discuss about the job at his home,” another police officer said.
The victim alleged that when she reached Vijay’s house, he molested her. When she objected his attempts, he tried to rape her. She, somehow, managed to escape and approached police after which a case was registered with Pandav Nagar police station.
