Last Updated 08 June 2013, 14:00 IST

The BJP Saturday said that the NCP should "should look at their own affair and not advise us" after its chief Sharad Pawar remarked that euphoria about Narendra Modi would end soon.

Reacting sharply to Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) chief Sharad Pawar's remarks, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Saturday said the NCP should mind its own business and not advise others.

"Look at the party in Maharashtra... They should look at their own affair and not advise us," BJP spokesperson Prakash Javadekar said here while referring to the string of resignations by NCP ministers in the alliance government in Maharashtra ahead of a reshuffle of ministerial portfolios.

Pawar Friday said the euphoria in the BJP about Gujarat Chief Narendra Modi's possible appointment as the party's prime ministerial candidate would be short-lived.

Giving the eulogy of a balloon over-filled with air, Pawar had said: "In my political career spanning 40-50 years I have found that more a balloon is inflated the sooner it bursts."
