A ‘Sasyakashi’, constructed along the lines of Botanical Garden in Ooty will come up on the banks of Kapila River near Pravasi Mandir in Nanjangud, said Revenue Minister V Srinivas Prasad here on Saturday.

He said that the blue print for the Garden was readied and works would be taken up soon. He was speaking at a district level officers meet held at Dasoha Bhavan.

Traffic police station

Noting that the proposed traffic police station in Nanjangud was yet to take off, he instructed the concerned officials to furnish details of the project, in order to speed up the process.

“A total of 331 students should be provided admission under Right to Education in the taluk. However, it has come to my notice that 31 students were denied admission under the Act,” he said and instructed the Deputy Director of Public Instruction to initiate “harsh action” against such schools.

He also advised the officials to take preventive action to stop the spread of vector borne diseases such as dengue and cholera.

Officials should also prevent illegal sand mining in the region, he said.
