Legendary singer Manna Dey is in stable condition, say doctors at Narayana Hrudayalaya.

The 94-year-old singer was admitted to the hospital after his health deteriorated a fortnight ago.

“He was brought in with multiple organ dysfunction. His health is stabilising and his family members are here,” the doctors added.

3,500 songs

The Dadasaheb Phalke Award winner spent around 50 years of his life in Mumbai but now resides in Bangalore.

He has recorded over 3,500 songs in a number of languages including Hindi and Bengali in all genres, including romantic ballads, classical songs, qawwalis and modern numbers.
His popular tracks include Ae Meri Zohra Jabeen (Waqt), Zindagi Kaisi Hai Paheli (Anand), Yeh Dosti (Sholay) and also Ek Chatur Naar (Padosan).
