An edge for the unsung

As part of their initiative, the company plans to bring out a Sportz Diva calendar 2010, featuring both ‘the rich and famous’, as well as ‘World champions’ and ‘lesser known women achievers in the field of sports’. “Many sports women have inspiring stories to tell and interesting experiences to relate.They have succeeded in their respective fields against tough odds and often with very little financial support. That is why we want to showcase their lives as examples of how one can overcome difficulties and fulfil one’s dreams and destinies with a combination of talent, perseverance and hard work,” says Anuradha.

“Unfortunately many of our talented sportswomen have gone unsung and unrecognised despite succeeding against tough odds. We hope to bring them into the mainstream and limelight through different platforms. Some of the women who have agreed to be part of the initiative are Sania Mirza, P T Usha, Mery Kom, Dola Banerjee, Anjali Bhagwat, Anu Vidyanathan and many others,” she adds.

Sportz Diva hopes to garner sufficient support and interest from corporate and private companies to push their agenda forward.
