A septuagenarian was crushed to death by an unregistered truck near Subbanna Palya on Wednesday.
The accident occurred when the unidentified driver sped his truck from Kodanda Rama temple, mowing 72-year old Dharmapalan down.
The deceased was trying to enter the temple gate, police said.
Visitors to the temple rushed the victim to a nearby private hospital but doctors declared him brought dead.
His body was later shifted to Bowring Hospital for post-mortem.
Banaswadi police have seized the truck and are trying to establish the driver’s identity.
