Raju's efforts spur Vijaya Bank home

Sunil N Raju put on an all-round show to spur Vijaya Bank to a resounding 158-run win over DTDC Sports Club in their KSCA Group II, Division I League match.

Batting first, Vijaya Bank rode on an unbeaten century from Sunil (114 runs, 115 balls, 7x4) to put on a competitive 295 for eight in 50 overs.

DTDC were less than impressive in their run chase. Barring Gaurav Dhiman (45), none of their batsmen managed to put on tangible runs on board as they were bundled out for a mere 137 in 37.1 overs. Sunil scalped a couple of wickets to round off a good day in the office while Arjun Shetty inflicted a bulk of the damage by bagging four wickets. C Raghavendra and K Gautham chipped in with a couple of wickets apiece.

In another match, Canara Bank defeated AIR Sports Club by nine wickets riding on Abhishek Bhat’s six-wicket haul and Abhishek Reddy’s (72) unbeaten half-century. KB Pawan chipped in with 38 not out.
