Policy to ensure teachers retire after academic year

Minister for Primary Education Kimmane Ratnakar said on Thursday that the government was working on a policy to ensure that teachers do not retire in the middle of the academic session.

Retirement of teachers in the middle of the academic year would hamper teaching in the remaining days of the academic session.

To address the problem, the State government will bring a policy to ensure that teachers retire only after the completion of the academic session every year, he told reporters here.
He said schools having two to three teachers always suffer from this problem.

The minister, who was here to attend a national meet on literacy, said the State government would provide grants of Rs 10 lakh to the Gram Panchayats that have achieved 100 per cent adult literacy.
