A 55-year-old man who was involved in two murder cases which happened recently in UP’s Badaun town was stabbed to death at his house in northeast Delhi’s GTB Enclave area in the wee hours of Sunday, police said.

The deceased identified as Hazi Jameer Ali, who ran an iron welding shop, was found in a pool of blood with two stab injuries, at his house on Sunday early morning.
He was rushed to a nearby hospital where doctors declared him brought dead.

The investigating officials said that they received a call regarding the incident at 2 am. They immediately rushed to the spot and sent the victim to hospital where he was pronounced dead.

During the probe, police said the deceased, after having dinner with his wife and four kids, went to his room on the first floor to sleep. Other family members stayed on the ground floor.

The family members were woken up at around 2 am by a loud sound. They rushed towards the main door of the house on the ground floor and found that it was locked from outside.

They immediately called one of their relatives living in the neighbourhood who came and opened the door.

But in the meantime, Ali’s elder son found his father lying in a pool of blood at the doorstep.

During questioning of family members, they found that Ali’s name figured in two murders that recently took place at his native place at Badaun in Uttar Pradesh.
The investigators also found that the way to Ali’s room on first floor can only be reached through the ground floor and no outsider could have entered his room directly.

“We are questioning family members as we have suspicion of involvement of insiders and we have also sent a team to his native place to look into the matter,” said a senior police officer.
