UK super priority visa service in South India

The UK Home Office, on Monday, announced the launch of Super Priority Visa service for customers in South India.

“The same day service was promised by British Prime Minister David Cameron during his recent visit to India and will be available in Chennai from June 18,” an official press release issued here said. It was earlier offered in Mumbai and New Delhi.
The service to facilitate urgent travel complements UK’s Fast Track Service and Online Payment options.

It is available to customers applying for six-month to two-year multiple entry visit visa (excluding student visitors) who have previously travelled to the UK, USA, Australia, New Zealand, Canada or a Schengen country within the last five years. The service is also available to visa applicants sponsored by companies who are members of Business Express Programme.

The Super Priority Visa Service is optional and incurs additional fee of £600 (Rs 57,000 at current rate), plus standard fee for the type of visa being applied for.
Applicants must fill up an online form and submit their applications, by appointment, before 9.30 am at Visa Application Centre in Chennai; this applies to customers outside Chennai as well.”

Customers using the service will have their passport and decision returned by 5.30 pm the same day.
