The High Court of Karnataka on Friday came down heavily on the Bangalore South Tahsildar for not surveying the Subramanyapura Lake till now.

“You are a young officer so we are lenient to you. But if you will not show any compliance to our direction, we will take serious action against you,” the Division Bench comprising Justices N Kumar and B V Nagarathna observed, during the hearing of a petition by Environment Support Group. The petitioner told the court that land sharks were hindering the survey and the police too were not coming to assistance. The Bench directed the tahsildar to demarcate the boundary of the lake and inform the court of any hindrance in executing the work.
