Ahmed Shareef (27), a resident of K R Nagar was murdered by his brother Sikander Shareef (32) and brother in law Muneer Shareef (27) along with Nasir (27), a resident of Lalbandh in Hunsur.
Family dispute, according to police, resulted in the gruesome murder.
Following the death Mehboob Shareef, (father of Ahmed Shareef and Sikander Shareef), a year ago, the family had received Rs six lakh as ex-gratia. Ahmed had regularly fought with his mother, Saleem Banu to give him a share of the money. Repeated harassment for the money by Ahmed had put the family in a spot of bother, following which brothers of Ahmed decided to kill him.
Sikander and Muneer contacted Nasir and offered him Rs 30,000 to kill Sikander. Nasir befriended Ahmed and murdered him after a session of heavy drinking on late hours of Saturday.
SP Abhinav Khare has lauded the efforts of K R Nagar police in arresting the culprits behind the crime.
