In a short span of time, actress Ramya Barna has managed to make a mark in the Kannada film industry.

With movies like Pancharangi, Lifeu Ishtene, Anarkali and the box-office Tulu hit Oriyadori Asal, Ramya has shown her talent and versatility as an actress. She may not have had many releases this year but the actress is content that she is working in films that not only appeal to her, but also challenge her to bring out her best. Shooting for two films –– Adrusta and Premaya Namaha –– Ramya has her hands full and tells Metrolife that she is loving every minute of it. “I would rather wake up knowing that I have to go and work than be restless with nothing in my hands. The best part about being an actress is that I love what I am doing and each day has been an exciting adventure for me,” she adds.
Playing an NRI girl in Adrusta, Ramya will be seen sharing screen space with Arun and Shubha Punja. In Premaya Namaha, she will be seen as a conservative girl, who hasn’t stepped out of her house and is bound by her parents’ rules and regulations. “Both the characters are poles apart. And shooting for them simultaneously has been challenging for me. In one, I am completely modern and in the other, I have a traditional look. So each day I wonder, who am I playing today?” she says.

Interestingly, though Ramya has been choosy about the kind of roles she portrays, she is happy at the offers that are coming her way. “I don’t want to sign just anything for the sake of it. I always take my time before taking on anything and understand the character before confirming the project,” she adds.

While there was news of her working in another Tulu film post the success of Oriyadori Asal, it looks like Ramya’s fans will have to wait a while for that. “There has been a slight delay in the project and it should start soon. I am, however, looking forward to the film as I really want to be a part of the Tulu movie,” she signs off.
