Hemanth, 27, who made his screen debut in the Kannada film ‘Nenapinagala,’ produced by his father, died following a massive heart attack in the early hours of Wednesday, at M S Ramaiah Hospital.

A resident of Someshwara Nagar, Doddaballapur, Hemanth was getting ready for another untitled film, being produced by his father. According to his brother Vasanth, Hemanth wanted to have six pack abs for his next film and was working out at a gym in Sahakara Nagar for the past three months.

“On Monday evening, after working out in the gym for long, Hemanth complained of chest pain and was rushed to Baptist Hospital and later to M S Ramaiah Hospital, where doctors said he had suffered a massive heart attack. They said some of the major valves were completely blocked. They did angiogram and angioplasty.

However, all treatment failed and he died after another massive heart attack early Wednesday morning,” Vasanth said.

Chandru, his collegemate and director of his debut film, said that Hemanth had aspired to acquire a mass appeal like his idol Darshan and had gone in for a very rigorous workout that took his life.
