“After the completion of our search operation, we have sealed the house of Madhu Koda. In the course of the operation, we seized vital documents. We have conducted raids at several locations, and search operation still continues at some places. It is a huge exercise, and we are still tabulating information to arrive at the exact figure,” said an I-T official.
Seizures from Koda’s house include four rupee-counting machines, cash, jewellery and a laptop among others, sources said.

Madhu Koda, a Member of Parliament from Chaibasa, is under the scanner for allegedly amassing assets disproportionate to his known sources of income.
The former chief minister is currently recuperating at Apollo Hospital where he was admitted on Tuesday morning after he complained of severe stomach pain.“The health of Madhu Koda is stable. He is under observation in the ICU. His blood pressure is high, but he is out of danger,” said Dr D P Sinha, Superintendent, Apollo Hospital.
Meanwhile, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) has asked the hospital authorities not to discharge Madhu Koda without informing it.

The ED has served a notice on Koda, summoning him for interrogation.
Six of Koda’s associates continue to be at large even as the I-T Department has issued notices, asking them to appear before the additional directorate (investigation) of income-tax to explain the transactions.
Meanwhile, Income Tax officials continued raids at Koda’s premises in Jharkhand for the fifth consecutive day on Wednesday.
