After being rapped by the High Court of Karnataka, the Bangalore South tahsildar conducted a partial survey of the Subramanyapura Lake on Saturday.
The lake has gone extinct due to the increasing housing projects around it, so much so that at least 300 houses have come up illegally on the lake bed, hampering the efforts to rejuvenate the lake.
Tahsildar Jagadish said that he has been instructed to demarcate boundary of survey number 64. “As per our records, survey No 64 alone is the lake land and it is the property of the Revenue department.
The BDA has a portion of land on the lake area, which they will survey separately,” he added.
