Option entry for first round of CET seats closes

Sunday was the last day for Option Entry for the first round of counselling of seats for professional courses through the state Common Entrance Test (CET).

Students could enter the options till 11 pm. As on 7 pm on Sunday, a total of 69,223 candidates out of 70,634 registered candidates had entered 45.77 lakh seat options, according to an official release by the Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA). 

The KEA will put up the dummy allotment results on Monday by 10 am. This will be available on the KEA official website kea.kar.nic.in. Later on, based on the dummy allotment, students can revise, update, add or delete their options entered.

This can be done from 12:30 pm on Monday till 5 pm on July 9, Tuesday. The examination authority will announce the first round of real allotment results by 9:30 am on July 10. It will be put up on the KEA website.

Meanwhile, seats of three new architecture colleges including Impact School of Architecture, Bangalore, Sharada School of Architecture, Bangalore and SJB School of Architecture and Planning, Bangalore were added to the Common Entrance Test seat matrix under the government quota.

There are 17 seats each in Impact School and SJB School and 34 seats in Sharada School of Architecture. These seats were added to the matrix and hosted on the KEA website on Saturday night after 8:30 pm. The total number of architecture seat available for options as on July 7 were 573.

The seats for medical remained at 2,214 on the last day of option entry. The seats of the new medical college ESI College, Gulbarga is yet to be added to the matrix.

Officials said the letter of permit has already been issued to the college, and the seats will be added to the matrix by second round of counselling.

The second round of counselling of seats through the CET is scheduled for July 23.
The Comed-K conducted its third day of counselling for engineering courses.

As many as 2,700 candidates were scheduled for the third day out of which 1,001 attended the counselling. The total number of seats allocated through Comed-K on Sunday was 949.
