All construction work would be stopped indefinitely from Tuesday if the demands were not met, they warned. <br /><br /></p>.<p>The 200-strong group of contractors is demanding immediate payment of Rs 1,500 crore, pending for the last 13 months.<br /><br />President of the contractors’ association, Srivinas, said the non-release of payment had hit them hard financially. <br /><br />The BBMP’s ailing financial condition left them in the lurch. Most protesters are small-time contractors who alleged that the dues of influential contractors are cleared on time. <br /></p>
