A teenager was gang raped and a 29-year-old woman molested in two incidents in south Delhi, police said on Monday.
A 19-year-old domestic help was allegedly gang raped by two labourers in Malviya Nagar. The accused have been arrested, police said on Monday.
The victim, who hails who from Nepal, has been working in the area for the last three months.
It is alleged that she was sleeping on the terrace of a house when two labourers from the neighbourhood forced themselves on her in the wee hours of Monday.
“She claims that one of the accused covered her mouth with a pillow, and the other raped her,” a police officer said.
The victim alleged that the accused tried to strangle her and threatened with dire consequences if she revealed the incident to anyone.
However, the victim informed her sister who made a call to the police control room. Her medical examination was conducted at AIIMS which confirmed rape.
“Two persons, Shivpal, 19 and Suresh, 20, who work as labourers in an under-construction house in victim’s neighbourhood were arrested over her statement,” the officer added.
A case under sections 307 (attempt to murder) and 376 (rape) of Indian Penal Code has been filed with Malviya Nagar police station.
Driver held
A driver was arrested for allegedly molesting a woman at a farmhouse in Fatehpur Beri.
The victim, who hails from Mumbai, is in the Capital with her mother and staying at her uncle’s farmhouse.
They were scheduled to travel to Vaishno Devi Mandir in Jammu and Kashmir, but cancelled the trip after the woman’s uncle taken ill.
On Sunday, the woman was sitting near a swimming pool when the incident occurred around 1.30 pm.
It is alleged that her uncle’s driver Bharat Bhushan verbally molested her when she asked him to change the music.
“He told her to change the music herself and used derogatory language,” a police officer said. The woman immediately made a call to the police control room after which Bharat was arrested.
A case under section 509 (word, gesture or act intended to insult the modesty of a woman) of the Indian Penal Code has been filed against Bharat with Fatehpur Beri police station.
