Petrol price was hiked by a sharp Rs 1.55 a litre from Sunday-Monday midnight, making the fuel costlier by over Rs 7 in a space of two months. The price increase excludes VAT and local taxes that vary from state to state.
After the increase, petrol in Bangalore will cost Rs 77.21 as against Rs 75.21 at present with the increase being Rs 2.
This is the fourth increase in petrol price since June. Last month, it was raised by close to Rs 5, the largest hike in a month ever, since petrol price was freed from the government’s control. The rise in price comes in the wake of increase in international crude prices and continued fluctuation in the dollar-rupee exchange rate.
However, there is no change in diesel prices just yet, as the revision in its rates is due at the month end.
Bangalore Rs 77.21
Delhi Rs 70.44
Kolkata Rs 77.76
Mumbai Rs 77.73
Chennai Rs 73.60
