In an incident of alleged police atrocity, two persons were injured, with one being treated at a private hospital for injuries, in the city.

According to sources, an inspector belonging to Pension Mohalla police station had allegedly beaten two persons at the police station for indulging in a petty quarrel, on Saturday. While one of the injured Ameer Pasha is being treated at a private hospital in Hassan, there are no details on the other person who has been injured.

There was a minor accident between an auto and a car on Hosaline road opposite Basaveshwara Kalyana Mantap, which led to a wordy duel between the drivers of the two vehicles.

A constable who arrived on the spot to sort out the problem forced both of them to  the police station.

Problem

The drivers of both the vehicles explained that the problem had been sorted out between them amicably and there was no need to lodge a complaint.

But, the constable dragged and produced them before the inspector, who, even without asking for an explanation, thrashed them.

Pasha suffered a fractured elbow, swelling, and injuries on his face. It is also said that Pasha was not allowed by the cops to be treated at the government hospital.

Finally, Pasha got himself admitted to a private hospital, according to his family members.
Circle Inspector Sanjeevegowda and others visited the spot. According to sources, ASP Rashmi has been directed to probe the issue. Strangely, while it was a mishap between a car and an auto, a case has been registered in the Pension Mohalla police station that Pasha had injured himself after having fallen from his bike.
