For the new batch of students who have joined Sindhi College (Degree), they know that college life is going to be a hectic but an enjoyable learning experience.

Ask them how they feel about starting this new chapter of their life and they speak eagerly of the opportunities they can’t wait to delve into.

At the orientation programme, the idea was to create a sense of unity among the freshers, which is exactly what happened.

The faculty and other staff members gave a warm welcome to the students, introducing themselves as the ones who would see them through the next few years and in turn, found out about each student’s aspirations.

Metrolife speaks to a few students about their expectations from the college in helping them achieve their goals.

“I completed my second PUC from the evening college here and I wanted to prolong that experience. The education is really good here. The atmosphere on campus and in class is such that students don’t feel nervous or hesitate to get doubts cleared.

Teachers are nice and friendly. Even the facilities provided are good,” says Rooheena, who is pursuing her BCom.

Her batch mate Rekha adds, “The reason why I wanted to come to this college is because it offers students the option of taking up extra courses. That’s my main area of interest so that I can build on my knowledge base for my MBA in the future.”

Preetam, who has taken up the BBM course, says, “The teaching is very good here and is reputed to help one create a good foundation for their career. There’s a lot of exposure you get from this course in terms of faculty members outside the college.

It’s a bit like school in terms of the discipline, which I feel will help us in overall development.”

Koushik, another fresher, chose the college because all his friends were applying here. “I’m not nervous and just beginning to get into the flow of things. I believe that the knowledge I will accumulate here will help me excel in my field,” says Koushik.

Meghana Luniya, also a BCom student, is only focussed on academics and wants to explore a different side through the experience. “I feel it will help me in my life, not only my career. I have high expectations from the college,” she says.
