Two persons were arrested at west Delhi’s Netaji Subhash Place for duping people by providing fake visa, police said who are looking for other accused involved in the racket.

Balwinder Bhatia, 37 and Sanjay Bhola,39, resident of Uttam Nagar, were nabbed at Netaji Subhash Place, said Ravindra Yadav, additional commissioner of police (crime).

Police said they were arrested after they got a tip-off that Balwinder, his brother and one of their friends Sanjay were running a racket of cheating individuals by stamping fake visas on passports on the pretext of sending them abroad.

“We laid a trap and arrested them from Netaji Subhash Place where they had come to deliver a fake visa to a man,” said Yadav. Police have recovered five passports stamped with fake Canadian visa and a sticker from their possession.

Balwinder told police that his brother Avinash Bhatia is in business of sending people abroad. Balwinder joined his business but later, his brother advised him to start his own business.

During this period, he came in contact with Sanjay, who was also in the business of sending people abroad. They hatched a conspiracy to cheat people of Gujarat and Punjab, who are willing to go to Canada. They initially opened an office in Rani Bagh, where they came in contact with Cheema, a resident of Jalandhar.

Cheema was asked to send people who want to go to Canada to their office in Delhi. Cheema sent around 12 people to their office and they charged Rs 8 lakh per peron. They further contacted Pinka in Munirka, who stamped fake visa for Rs 15,000 per passport.

They told police that a month ago, they closed their Rani Bagh office and shared the money among them, including Cheema, and shifted to Noida where they opened another office in the name of Elegant Group. They advertised in the newspapers of Uttarakhand.

Meanwhile, they came in contact with Mehra and Ranganathan from Mehsana, Gujarat who brought people from Gujarat. They cheated many people and earned huge money by stamping fake visa sticker on their passports. They have also given fake visa stamped passports to their local agents in Dehradun, Punjab and Gujarat.

Police said they are now looking for Avinash, Cheema, Pinka and Mehra and Ranganathan and have sent teams to nab them.
