Chandy refuses to resign

A day after the Kerala High Court criticised the state government over the manner in which investigation was being conducted into the solar panel fraud, Chief Minister Oommen Chandy asserted that he would not resign as reaction to media reports. Speaking to reporters on Wednesday, Chandy said the court had not made any observation directly criticising the government.

The court made an observation in connection with the complaint by businessman M K Kuruvilla who alleges that men claiming to be a relative and personal staff of Chandy’s duped him of around Rs 1 crore but the complainant has failed to provide any evidence in this connection, the CM said. “ I reiterate that I have no relative by the name Andrews or a personal staff member called Diljith, as alleged by him,” he said.
