<p>The students of PES College of Business Management welcomed their freshers to the college with music and celebrations recently. During the freshers’ day programme, the first-year students came out of their shell and interacted with their friends, seniors as well as teachers. <br /><br /></p>.<p>The aspiring batch of young managers were thrilled that their seniors had organised such an excellent show. The freshers’ day programme commenced with a formal function. However, the highlight of the programme was the theme ‘Angels and Demons’. <br /><br />Allan, a first-year student, says that they were welcomed in the best way possible by the seniors. “The freshers’ day programme indeed was an enjoyable one and we felt at home with all of our teachers and seniors. It was very nice to see that the seniors had put an effort to see a smile on our faces,” he says.<br /><br />A scintillating dance performance by Charan and group added some spark to the event. They got the students tapping their feet to the beat. The crowd definitely started getting enthusiastic and cheerful about the rest of the line-up. Vinayak Vaidya, a second-year student, had the audience rolling on the floor when he imitated a few lecturers. A fashion show was lined up next for the freshers, in which they could see their seniors dressed up for the occasion. A melodious duet song by Faisal and Shruthi was enjoyed by the audience too.<br /><br />One of the high points of the event was the humourous pantomime by the ‘Mad Ads’ team, which included a group of second-year students as well as the alumni. This had everyone in splits and they brought the house down with their witty lines. “A freshers’ party is never complete without the crowning of ‘Mr and Ms Fresher’, so the seniors conducted a series of rounds to crown the winners. <br /><br />The twist — where the boys had to wear high heels for a ramp walk and the girls had to burst balloons with their legs tied together — was quite a sight for all of us. As the finalists lined up on the stage, the crowd called out the names of their favourites. Chirag emerged as ‘Mr Fresher’ and Geetisha was crowned ‘Ms Fresher’. The ‘best costume’ award was bagged by Bhargav and Aditi. Finally, everyone trooped on to the stage, grooving to some music. This event undoubtedly brought all the students on a single platform and laid the foundation for a healthy relationship between seniors and junior students,” says Meena a second-year BBM student.<br /><br /></p>
