<p>Bus services to Tirumala will once again come to a halt from Friday midnight as the Andhra Pradesh Non-Gazetted Officers Association (APNGO), spearheading the Samaikhyaandhra agitation, have decided to intensify protests against bifurcation of the state.<br /><br /></p>.<p>Though the Seemandhra wing of Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (APSRTC) employees deferred their strike keeping in mind the pilgrims’ needs, they have now vowed not to relent till MPs and Union ministers resign to put pressure on the Centre to reverse its decision.<br /><br />Announcing the decision after APNGO office bearers meet in Guntur on Friday, they said the strike, which began on 12 August, is 100 percent in 13 districts and 50 per cent in Hyderabad. APNGO president Ashok Babu said 74 departments, including APSRTC and students unions, will continue the agitation by organising rallies on August 19, road blockade on 20 and human chains on 21.<br /><br />“MPs and Union ministers should resign, otherwise one generation of Seemandhra will lose its future. We also request private bus operators to stop services right away. A serious situation will arise if we have to stop them. They should not take advantage of the situation,” Ashok Babu said.<br /><br />Meanwhile, Thota Vani, wife of Stamps and Registration Minister Thota Narasimham, who was on a fast for the last six days in Kakinada opposing the bifurcation. <br /><br />She was forcibly shifted to the government hospital by the police in the early hours of Friday after her health deteriorated. Congress general secretary in-charge of party affairs in AP Digvijay Singh on Thursday spoke to Vani and urged her to call off the hunger strike. Thota Narasimham is one of the eight ministers from Seemandhra who have already submitted their resignations.<br /><br />In Kadapa, the indefinite fast by YSR Congress (YSRC) MLA Srikant Reddy and former Kadapa mayor Ravindernath Reddy entered the fifth day on Friday. <br /><br />Doctors said their blood sugar and sodium levels have come down and if they continued their fast, their condition may deteriorate. <br /><br />Two other YSRC MLAs are also continuing their fast for the second day on Friday.<br />Trying to diffuse the situation, former Pradesh Congress Committee president D Srinivas on Friday strongly advocated for a separate Seemandhra saying that the region would achieve monumental development as it was rich in natural resources.<br /></p>
