The students of ISBR, who have enrolled for a postgraduate diploma in management, are looking forward to a great stint with the institution, especially since they will be spending one semester abroad.

The batch is looking forward to travelling to foreign shores, where they will learn about the corporate world and cultural differences. A handful of students spoke to Metrolife about the ongoing orientation session and their hopes and dreams for the next two years.

Priya Nimbalkar, who has completed engineering in electronics and communications from Nagpur, says that the orientation session was an eye-opener. “It has been a great opportunity to showcase ourselves. The session will particularly help in developing our personalities. It is also a great way to improve our public speaking skills and get rid of stage fear,” she says. Priya says that she chose to come to Bangalore since it is an IT hub.

Chandini Narayan, a City girl who was ‘slightly nervous’ on the first day of college, says that she has settled in comfortably. “I checked with the alumni about the facilties available here. It was only after I spoke to the seniors that I opted for this institute,” she says. She adds that the orientation has put her at ease. “I am looking forward to going to France for one semester, before which I want to learn French. Besides, it will be interesting to learn about business abroad,” says Chandini.

Through the orientation session, the students have already started getting an insight into the ways of the corporate world. “We are getting to interact with those from the industry as well as understand the global market. I find that the seminars are very convincing and much better than what I had expected,” says Nithin Rangineni, who has joined the MBA course after completing BCom. “I am looking forward to a good placement session,” he adds.

Lira Minj says that it’s too quick to form an opinion of how the experience has been. “I was eager to move to a new city and I am still adjusting to it. Of course, being away from home and being surrounded by new classmates is a different feeling. The language barrier is something I will have to overcome,” she says. But at the end of the course, Lira says that being placed with a good company will pay off. “I also want to conquer my fears and inculcate good qualities,” she says.

Similar are the aspirations of Chaitanya Sista from Hyderabad. “The experience so far has been really good, especially since we are getting trained in so many aspects. The platform we are receiving during the orientation session is something that must really be made use of. Besides, it’s a good chance to get rid of our fears,” he explains.
