The State government has issued a notification fixing reservation for the posts of Mayor and Deputy Mayor in eight city corporations, including Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike (BBMP).
The reservation has been fixed for the 16th term of these posts as per the provisions of Rule 73-A of the Karnataka Municipal Corporations (Election) (Amendment) Rules 2007.
Names of the Corporations and reservations are as follows: Bangalore - Mayor (G), Dy Mayor (G-W); Belgaum – Mayor (BCA), Dy Mayor (G-W); Bellary – Mayor (SC), Dy Mayor (BCB-W); Davangere – Mayor (SC-W), Dy Mayor (BCA); Gulbarga – Mayor (BCA-W), Dy Mayor (G); Hubli-Dharwad – Mayor (G), Dy Mayor (ST-W); Mangalore – Mayor (G-W), Dy Mayor (G); Mysore – Mayor (G-W), Dy Mayor (SC).
