The incident occurred around 8 am just before President Pratibha Patil’s plane was to land at the Air Force terminal next to Vijayraje Scindia Air Terminal, officials said. The alert pilot after seeing the two IAF vehicles, immediately took off in nick of time averting an accident.
The state plane was landing at the air terminal after getting clearance from the Air Traffic Control, they said and added that later on the ATC had asked it not to land. State Chief Secretary Rakesh Sahani has written to the Union Civil Aviation Secretary about the incident.
