World Diabetes Day programmes at Manipal

Speaking to the media persons here on Tuesday, Medical Superintendent and Chief Operating Officer Dr T S Raghuraman informed that there would be free screening programme for the public at the Conference Hall. At Shirdi Sai Baba Cancer Hospital, free blood test would be conducted. There would be an interactive session on diabetes with the unit heads of the general Medicine Department of the Hospital, he said.

Dr Manthappa and Dr N R Rao would deliver special talks on the occasion.  According to latest reports, there were 285 million diabetes patients in the world, a figure which would rise to 485 million by 2030. Asian Indians were genetically prone for this disease.
