Vehicle lifter held, 19 bikes recovered

 
According to the police, the accused had used duplicate keys to drive away bikes parked in front of houses during the night, in and around the City Market area.

The police secured him for questioning when he was standing suspiciously in V V Puram. Abdul spilled the beans when he was interrogated, added the police.

Woman duped

In an another incident of conmen duping gullible women of jewellery, a woman was cheated of gold ornaments worth Rs one lakh on K R Road on Monday night.

Manjula, the victim, in her complaint to Thyagarajanagar police has said that she was on her way to Jayanagar when an unidentified person advised her to be cautious in the wake of increasing chain snatching incidents. Later, he lured her into a trap and fled with the jewellery.
