MPs of the CPI and CPM trooped into the well of the House soon after the Lok Sabha met for the day, carrying placards and raising slogans against the latest hikes in petrol and diesel prices.

The protest continued despite a plea from the BJP MP and Leader of Opposition Sushma Swaraj to leave aside all other issues and to have a discussion on the disappearance of the files related to the probe into the coal block allocation scam.

The Speaker first adjourned the House till 11.30 am But as the pandemonium continued even after the Lok Sabha reassembled, M Thambidurai, who was in the chair, again adjourned the House till 12.00 noon and then again till 2.00 pm.
