CM for joint survey of disputed lands

Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, on Wednesday, directed revenue and forest officials to conduct joint surveys wherever there is a dispute on the jurisdiction of land among two departments.

Addressing a high-level meeting, Siddaramaiah said the Revenue department should take the lead in conducting the survey and Forest department should provide full cooperation.

The meeting also discussed utilisation of technology like satellite imagery and GIS while conducting the joint survey. Police protection was also sought for officials during their field visits while conducting the survey.

Forest Minister Ramanath Rai, Revenue Department Principal Secretary Basavaraj, Forest Department, Principal Secretary P Sivasailam and top officials of the two departments  attended the meeting convened to find a solution to the confusion over the jurisdiction of revenue and forest land in several pockets of the State.
