Paying water bills made easier

Serpentine queues and long waiting for payment of water bills may be a thing of the past soon. The Bangalore Water Supply and Sewerage Board has tied up with several retail outlets across the City for collection of water bill.

The Board has authorised several grocery shops, medical shops, petrol pumps and other service centres - called Easy Bill Agents - to collect the water bill. Consumers can walk into any of 1,000 Easy Bill Outlets and pay the bill amount furnishing their RR number.

The payment will be acknowledged with a  bill  - generated electronically - followed by an SMS alert.

The system also allows partial payment on the due date and payment after the last date. These outlets function from early morning till late into night and work even on Sundays and holidays.

The BWSSB has already enabled online payment of water bills besides providing the facility at BangaloreOne centres and its kiosks.
