Sixty eight per cent of our universities and 78 per cent of degree colleges in the country are below the standards set by UGC, said Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences Vice Chancellor D Sriprakash.
Addressing the Foundation Day function of the Forum of Former Vice Chancellors of Karnataka State Universities (FVCK) on Friday, he said, “there is a need for quality education in our institutions and need financial assistance for this.”
Department of Higher Education Principal Secretary Rajneesh Goel said “The purpose of this forum is to help colleges lagging behind rise up to a level where they can apply to the UGC for autonomous status,” Goel said.
