The Supreme Court on Tuesday refused to entertain a petition filed by a freelance journalist seeking probe into a sting operation CD prepared by him.

The CD had purportedly showed senior BJP leaders conspiring to get “vakalatnamas” signed by the mother of alleged fake encounter victim Tulsiram Prajapati to influence the case.
A bench of Justices H L Dattu and S J Mukhopadhaya, however, allowed Pushp Sharma to withdraw the petition and granted him liberty to file an interlocutory application in the matter.

The journalist had sought cancellation of bail granted to BJP leader Amit Shah, an accused in the case on, the basis of his “findings” allegedly showing RSS pointsman in the party Ram Lal and BJP MPs Prakash Javadekar and Bhupendra Yadav conspiring to impede the judicial process. The court said that the writ petition could not be entertained in the disposed-of matter.
