'Luck is an opportunity used'

H P Khincha, Vice-Chancellor, VTU was the chief guest and Padma Bhushan N S Ramaswamy was the guest of honour. Sai Prakash Leo Muthu declared the Graduation Day open. Principal T V Govindaraju welcomed the dignitaries, graduates and staff and formally introduced the dignitaries and Vice-Chancellor H P Khincha and Cartman Prof N S Ramaswamy.

Khincha said, “The change that comes after graduation is stupendous.” He stressed on the constant effort management and staff exerts to convert an undergraduate into a graduate. “Luck is not a chance but an opportunity used,” he said. He advised the graduates to have the right attitude and priorities in life. 

Ramaswamy presented the special address. He said every civilisation has its greatness and for India, it is spirituality. “In the last 100 years, development in technology has been unprecedented but mankind is not happy. Spirituality is the only answer. Santana Dharma exists only in India and this will bring the world to India’s doorsteps for solutions to modern problems,” he added. Sharmila Rajaa announced the toppers list of CSE, ECE, EEE and mechanical engineering graduates.  

Cultural day celebrations

The students of Seshadripuram College celebrated their College Day last week. Several awards and prizes were given away  to outstanding students.

Tarang 2009 was formally inaugurated by well-known singer Shivamogga Subbanna who enthralled the audience with his melodious songs. Speaking on the
occasion he said, “In today’s world, tendency of scoring marks has sidelined cultural activities of students. But we should realise that extra-curricular activities are as significant as curricular activities.’

In his welcome speech, the Principal Narahalli Balasubramanya opined that the cultural activities socialise the behaviour of students which in turn bring about discipline in their lives.

Bettering the nation

The graduation day of CMR Law School was held recently. The batch of twenty six students passed out this year.

In his graduation day address the chief guest Dr J S Patil, Vice-Chancellor Karnataka Law University, spoke at length about the need for constant change and adaptation as a means of facilitating a substantive transformation that is required to deliver quality in professional education. He also informed the gathering that the University shall incorporate a thoroughly revised and updated syllabus based upon the new guidelines and rules issued by the Bar Council of India. 

In her presidential address Dr Sabitha Ramamurthy, President CMR Jnanadhara Trust inspired the graduating batch to strive towards discipline and integrity in discharging their duties towards society and nation.
