<p>Apparently depressed over family problems, a Delhi Police sub-inspector posted with the security wing shot himself dead using his service revolver in Chanakyapuri on Wednesday morning.<br /><br /></p>.<p>Police have not found any suicide note from the spot.<br /><br />However, after talking to victim’s friends and family members they suspect he committed suicide over family issues.<br /><br />Kaptan Singh, 57, lived in outer Delhi’s Kanjhawala, and was posted with the security wing for the last two years.<br /><br />One of his sons also works with Delhi Police and posted in another police district.<br /><br />The incident took place around 6.30 am. Singh was on duty at Security Lines, said police.<br />Hearing the gunshot, one of Singh’s colleagues rushed towards the spot only to discover him lying in a pool of blood.<br /><br />Singh was rushed to Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital where doctors pronounced him brought dead.<br /><br />His body has been preserved at the hospital mortuary for a post-mortem.<br /><br />He shot himself in the temple from the left and the bullet passed through his head. Police have recovered the fired bullet from the spot.<br /><br />Police said so far investigations revealed that Singh was depressed over some personal issues, including financial problems.<br /><br />“We are taking statements of the victim’s family and friends to exact reason behind the extreme step,” said an officer.<br /></p>
