EADS, Airlogic floats Spare part solutions joint venture

The JV, which is split 26 per cent between Airbus and 37 per cent each for the other partners, will maintain an inventory of rotable components used on all types of Airbus commercial aircraft by operators in India for outright sale, exchange and customised pooling arrangements.  The new venture represents a significant investment in aftermarket customer support for Airbus’s Indian customers, stated a release from Airbus. SSSI will also offer sale/leaseback of component inventories; the purchase of inventories associated with fleet phase-outs; and localised, just-in-time, support to both airlines and MROs [maintenance, repair and overhaul of aircraft.
