CM releases Dasara posters

Chief Minister Siddaramaiah released gold cards, mobile phone apps, poster and other publicity materials of Nada Habba Dasara 2013, at Lalith Mahal Palace Hotel, here, on Monday.

Speaking to media during the occasion, he said that Rs 19 crore had been released to Mysore City Corporation for developmental works, aside from Rs 10 crore for Dasara festivities.The funds released to MCC will be utilised for road works and others.

He also said that road works (covering potholes) will start immediately, while permanent works will be taken up only after monsoon. He said that Dasara works had been hindered because of rains in the recent weeks. The Chief Minister sought information on Rajapatha works, and was informed that works till K R Circle will be completed within Dasara.  He also said that the government was considering the formation of Dasara authority. “The State government is trying to get a Gazette Notification for Nada Habba Dasara.  This will ensure release of additional funds for the festivities from the Centre.”

The government is also keen on developing the Tourism Circuit for Mysore and surrounding areas. A blue print was in being readied.

Siddaramaiah said that he had held discussion with the Union Aviation Ministry with regard to expanding the Mysore Airport. 

Entry tax lifted

Siddaramaiah also took a decision to lift entry tax imposed on inter-State tourist vehicles plying to  Kodagu, Mandya and Chamarajanagar for a period of one month during Dasara.
