Two held for burglary

The Central Crime Branch (CCB) police have arrested two persons and recovered gold ornaments and electronic goods worth Rs five lakh from them.

According to the police, Yashas V S, a resident of Jayanagar and an unemployed BCom graduate, befriended Ajay and made away with 163 gram of gold ornaments worth Rs 4.64 lakh and two cellphones worth Rs 40,000, all amounting to Rs 5.04 lakh, from the latter’s residence that comes under the Tilak Nagar police station limits.

The police arrested and interrogated Yashas, when they spotted him on September 18 near the Ragigudda Arch in Jayanagar. Yashas admitted to the crime and also stated that he had looted his friend’s house four times in the last eight months.

It was also revealed that Sunil Kumar, a resident of Jayanagar and a friend of Yashas, owned Murudhar Bankers, a pawnbroker’s shop in BTM Layout. He bought the stolen gold and silver ornaments. Both of them have been arrested, the police added.
